Album Notes

Miranda Ferriss Jones was born in Monkton, Vermont on a dirt road with a mountain behind her and cows across the street. At age 2 she started singing with her father, once a jazz flutist. She would sing Burt Bacharach, Ashford and Simpson, Nina Simone and the Little Mermaid.
Throughout high school she performed leads in high school and community theatre and attended an acting academy for half the day her sophomore and junior years. She also sang with a rock band and with a jazz duo, performing throughout the state.
She continued to study performance throughout her college career at Yale University. She performed in over 20 undergraduate and graduate productions. During her junior year she traveled to London to study Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Post-graduation she toured the world singing jazz a cappella with Yale’s ‘Whim N’ Rhythm.’
She recently performed in the first regional production of ‘Shout the Mod Musical’ where she sang ’60’s hits such as ‘Downtown’ and ‘Son of A Preacher Man.’ She has performed throughout New York City as an actress and vocalist and will continue to work and grow as a performer and now lives in San Francisco.

Wow, what can I say. I've always known Miranda had incredible talent, from listening to her sing at her own graduation party to singing at Lunigs Restaurant, but never did I expect this. The control and range of her voice has blossomed and her talent as a song writer is just amazing. This is just the beginning, some of us will be lucky enough to say "I knew her when..."
