Album Notes

The Kaleidoscope Project, based in Portland Oregon, is an electro-acoustic group that is a collaboration between singer/songwriter Matthew Gailey , Clifford Koufman ,(who is also known as the "Wearer of Nifty Hats"), on trap set and West African hand drums and Dave Iula on electric and acoustic guitar. The group's sound has one foot in modern folk & alternative and the other in indie jazz.

Matthew wrote this song , in part , as an observation on how different people react in different ways to change and to how relentlessly swift life is.

For this version, Clay Giberson , (a local Portland jazz luminary), provided keys , synth bass and effects.

Other frequent guests with The Kaleidoscope project are: Andre St.James ( Sonny Rollins , Bobby Hutcherson , Mel Brown , Nancy King and many others ) on upright bass, and Steve Cleveland ( Johnny Ward , Chata Addy , Jujuba , The Bitter Sweet Trio ) on piano and wurlitzer.
