BIOGRAPHY OF A COUNTRY SOUL SINGER BY WAY OF LOUISIANA & MISSISSIPPI WITH LITTLE TEX MEX FLAVOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Hammond: Biography of an R&B Artist

Born and raised in Houston, TX with Mississippi and Louisiana roots. Michael’s lineage is a mixture of R&B, Country and Western music. He was born and raised in Houston, TX but has fluently instilled in him that deep Mississippi drawl with the spicy potpourri of true Louisiana gumbo.

Michael played in the 1986 Farm Aide II, headed by the renowned Willie Nelson. Michael’s band backed Roy Head and Johnny Paycheck. His most influential artist was Delbert McClinton (Country and R&B - what a combination. Michael’s other favorite artists include Johnnie Taylor, Ray Charles, Bobby Blue Bland, Bobbie Womack, Etta James, Merle Haggard, Bonnie Ray, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Skaggs and Tom T Hall just to name a few.

Michael was recently discovered working for tips at a grocery store off of the Old Jack Rabbit Road near the old Hwy 149 on the north side of Houston.

Songs on his new CD range from Johnnie Taylor, Tony Joe White, and Buddy Holly and Sam Cooke.

Michael’s most notable quote “Bobby Blue Bland is the most under rated soul singer - and he could still do it today.” Michael doesn’t like to fly but takes the train while writing songs and practicing. Amtrak loves him because he is acquiring many fans during his route of travel.

Michael Hammond is truly one soulful dude!
