"Polishing the past into something new," best describes Matt Hendricks and his music. His performances tip the hat to past musical styles of country blues, folk, ragtime and early jazz. His original material has combined these influences with something that's unique and personal.

Matt's latest CD "Ghetto Blues Hotel" is a collection of ten songs recorded in a hotel room on Milwaukee's east side. It is a no-nonsense look at what can be done in less than twenty-four hours with a voice, some instruments, and two microphones. "The old music I like to listen to was recorded very quickly and with little money. Because of that, it had a certain sound and feel. That's the feel I was going for with this recording."
