God’s Blessings from down the Louisiana Bayou,

I haven’t lived here all my life though. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Shoveled snow, ice fished, and watched the Green Bay Packers win the first ever AFC-NFC Championship game now called the Super Bowl long before Packer fans were known as cheese heads.

I’ve always loved music and it has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. From garage bands at high school dances to traveling through the Midwest playing lounges and nightspots finally settling in Texas and starting a family and listening to all that Texas swing and now in Louisiana. I’ve never been anywhere that I wasn’t involved in some kind of music. Now I find that my calling is performing Christian music in churches and coffeehouses. What started out as recording a few songs for my, now grown, children turned into a much bigger project which culminated in what we have here. I hope and pray that there is something for you here in the music.

Songs include:

The Way - People look everywhere in this world for what will make them happy and yet find no peace. Maybe what will give us peace is not of this world. This song moves and is powerful.

Footprints - A song of encouragement inspired by the story written by Mary Stevenson. So often when the world bears down on us with its troubles we feel like we are carrying the whole load by ourselves. We feel all alone and don't know how we'll make it through another day. It's one of those days when there is just one set of footprints in the sand. God is with us always.

What is Truth? - These days the truth is pulled and stretched, twisted and spun, blended with fiction and seasoned with rumors. The old saying is, if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it is the truth. How true that is. After getting to the point where I could hardly watch the evening news without screaming at the set I came to realize that there is only one Truth that matters. Pilate asked the question with a touch of sarcasm. This song is an in your face answer to that rhetorical question.

Coming Home - The promise of a new life to come is what motivated the writing of this song. I borrowed from the book of Ecclesiastes as well as the writings of Paul, to set the contrast between what is now and what is to come. We are destined to struggle in this world and Christ is the bridge to the next, where the struggle is over.

Jesus Loves Me - No, you are right, I didn't write this song. But I have been singing it a long, long, time. I sang it as a child and used to sing it almost each and every Sunday with the Sunday school children so much so that it had become routine. Only recently have I begun to appreciate its verse and powerful message. So simple in its form and truthful in its message that I felt compelled to do something with it. The Sunday school children from Grace Lutheran Church in Houma, LA begin the song, the same way I used to sing it when I was a child.
