ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Conga Mike has been practicing for a while, now. He's done drum circles, dance accompaniment, small, and big band Jazz ensembles, funk/rock, boogie, blues, etc. He's not really that up on the ancient drum traditions; he does have some baggage from his personal journey, though. It's all good! Mike's worked with a few veteran, genius musicians/performers/dancers/singers, etc. (the noteworthy and the notorious)

For instance, Mike has some original tunes, and perhaps, some interesting interpretations of some other tunes. Yeah, that's right, that's his baggage. That's what he wants to show you. I guess, you could also call it his repertoire. It's some contrapuntal, polyrhythmic stuff (funky, maybe), liberally influenced by everywhere he's been, musically.

Recording Engineer/Producer
I rated the recording high for Brother Mike's extraordinary talent.
Please support this very talented man. I did the recording for him in Los Angeles back in the late 80's I think... LOL... Met Mike playing his conga in a parking lot one day and fell in love! You gotta hear this guy live. AMAZING! He has worked with dancer Gregory Hines (deceased) and a few others ... lovely person!!
Miss you Mike! PEACE!
