Album Notes

Raised in the artistic community of Woodstock, NY, music has been a fundamental part of Michael's life since as far back as he can remember. Experimenting with a variety of instruments since the age of 8, Michael discovered the guitar at the age of 12 and immersed himself into a rigorous practice regimen, often spending up to 8 hours a day becoming more and more proficient on the instrument.

In late 1994 he founded a retro seventies rock band that concentrated on hook oriented songs with tight vocal harmonies. They recorded and released two independent records, played countless performances and received regional radio airplay and press coverage. However, after four years together, each member decided to take what he had learned from the experience and pursue other musical opportunities.

The fall of 1998 began a new chapter in Michael's musical journey in that he moved to Nashville, TN, to focus more on songwriting as well as live performance. Within a few weeks he was in the studio working on projects with such artists as Michael McDonald, Sixpence None The Richer, Jon Anderson from YES and Take 6 to name just a few. In 2000 his career as a producer began when he produced his first full length album "The Healing Pool" for Dioscuri Records recording artists Phileo. Michael spent the next 3 years touring with various artists and in the studio producing and/or playing on countless sessions. During his four and a half years in Nashville he became the Fret Talk columnist for Rock & Read Magazine, completed his first instructional book Introspective Guitar, had 16 of his songs recorded by other artists, and was credited on a number of records that achieved multi-platinum status.

Since June of 2003, Michael has been living in Los Angeles, CA, where he has been playing on sessions for Miramax Films, Chrysalis Music Publishing, CBS and various television, album and film projects. Select examples of these include the Ella Enchanted soundtrack, The Young & The Restless, The Bold & the Beautiful, and Cold Case. He has signed publishing deals with 3 production music libraries and his songs have been placed in various television shows and commercials, including Audi, Mazda and Rent Way. Michael recently produced an acoustic guitar virtual instrument library for Big Fish Audio entitled Acoustic Legends and is currently an endorsing artist for Brian Moore Custom Guitars, Elixir Strings, Visual Sound Pedals and Presonus studio gear.

Michael's most recent accomplishment is the release of his first instrumental solo record, Stained Voodoo, a collection of 10 original compositions ranging in style from rock to funk to acoustic that pays homage to his earliest musical influences.

REVIEWS

Satch, Eric Johnson,Neal Schon...in a blender.

This was very musical and well thought out, not just a shredd fest all though there is plenty of great chops. It's musical in that each song can take you to a different place. One song had me on the edge of a cliff, another in a rainforest or out for a high speed drive. For me this was a combination of ah via musicom(E. Johnson), flying in a blue dream(Satch), and beyond the thunder all in one(schon). Enjoy!

I have listened to this album non-stop since receiving it. With each new song that comes on it takes you to a different place. The musicianship shows the artist's dedication to and love for the instrument, and the raw, no frills recording shows off his passion and skills to their utmost advantage. A definate must add to your collection!
