A leading exponent of contemporary acoustic guitar and a consummate performer - and he makes it look so easy!
Michael's repertoire includes Jazz and Blues, Celtic and Australian Folk, Country, Classical and his own distinctive compositions.
Michael's unique style - distinctively Australian and highly original in its presentation - marks him as a
performer not to be missed.
Transfixed takes a retrospective look at guitarist Michael Fix's ten-year recording career. Included are most of the tracks that were finalists in the (Australian) CMAA awards, including the 1999 and 2000 Golden Guitar winning tunes (Mr Wonglepong and Walkin' The Walk). Most were never released on any album; they were radio promotional singles. A trip to the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) covention in Nashville June 2000 provided Michael with an opportunity to revisit his major guitar influences. Those influences are very evident here, particularly on the new tracks composed after that memorable trip.
