ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Most of the material on this album of songs, was recorded in 1984 & 85 at Brian Ahern’s Enactron Studios in L.A. There were overdubs and mixing done at Wizard Studios also in L.A. and a few other locations around town. It was wonderful working with so many incredible players! I’ll list them according to the instruments they played and, as well as memory recalls, the cuts they played on.

James Burton played lead guitar on Walkin’ and most of the other cuts, however Albert Lee made several contributions and Jack Daniels played lead on Angel Watching Over Me.

Glen D. Hardin played most of the piano parts and wrote the string arrangement for Feeling This Way. He also helped Greg Humphrey, my bass player and co-producer with arrangements on the basic tracks. Both James and Glen D. were very encouraging and great to work with. Steve Duncan did all the drum tracks. J.D. Manis played all the steel guitar parts. Al Perkins played dobro on For A Dime. Garth Hudson played B3 Organ on Anything You Want and Joel Sonier played the Cajun squeeze box on Walkin’. Byron Berline did all the fiddle work except for a cameo by Johnny Gimble on Yesterday’s Love.

I honestly can’t remember the names of the guys who did the back up singing. We just called them the Angels. If you recognize yourself on this recording, please contact me and I’ll make adjustments to the credits down the line.

A special thank you to Greg Humphrey for production. Then there was Skip Barth, without whose financial support none of this could have been accomplished.

Thank you to everyone especially my wife Ellen for helping me with the cover design and the love and inspiration that keeps me going.
