Album Notes

"I can unreservedly recommend this entire series. Excellent for beginners and challenging for the more advanced player."
KEN PERLMAN, musician, author, and critic

Here's what you get:

6 hours of instruction (MP3 format)
45 individual lessons with slow and up-to-speed versions of songs.
105 pages of tablature and instruction
45 folk songs and banjo tunes with full tablature

Even if you never played the banjo before, this series of 45 lessons sequentially presented across six full hours of MP3 files, will have you playing music from the first session. Using the lessons and the 105 pages book, you'll find it easy to teach yourself.

Each lesson presents a simple, achievable goal — a new technique and new tune. Learn the tune, and move ahead when you are ready. By the end of the course you'll have been exposed to the full potential of banjo music--from the satisfaction of simple song accompaniment to the excitement of banjo instrumentals.

This is a 24 year old lesson book and is fabulous. I am a beginner and Michael Miles is a patient instructor. The carrot is that the lessons lead to learning most of the songs I have wanted to master. So far so good. Great purchase.

Michael Miles instruction technique is wonderful. It may be a bit slow for the more experienced who have played other styles. I only received it last week, and so far, I've found it perfect and very easy to follow.
