Album Notes

  I am Michael McIlwain.  I love to sing, play my guitar, and share the glorious good news about the salvation that Jesus offers to all who put their trust in Him.  My musical heritage is an unusual blend of pentecoastalism blended with the solid theology of the Reformation. My music combines the passion and joy of Pentecostal groups such as the Hinsons and the Happy Goodmans while stricnf for excellence in arranegments such as the Statesmen, Glad, and the Gaither Vocal Band. Sovereign Grace Music is also a strong influence upon me in my songwriting.

    Why have such an unusual title for a gospel album?  Tent Revival at the Carnival might seem a little odd. Well, when you think about it, such a concept is exactly the way God has called His people to live each day.  He did not take us to heaven when he saved us, but he left us here to share the gospel message and minister to the hurting people that we encounter each day.  Conversely, while we are still here and are to interact with those who do not espouse the values of our Lord Jesus, we must take time to gather together with other believers so that we might be encouraged, refreshed, and so that we might be lovingly confronted when our lives begin to look too much like the world around us.
