Album Notes

Michael Robbins has been playing guitar since age 15. Born in New Jersey and now living in Florida, he’s been writing ever since. Over the years, Robbins has experimented with a wide variety of styles ranging from new age to progressive rock.

This collection of acoustic-based songs represents brand new performances of the most significant writing done by the artist over the past 21 years. Lyrically, the work is brutally honest and direct. Musically, Robbins creates a meditative atmosphere which takes each listener on his or her own personal journey of the heart. In an age in which song vocals have fallen into the degraded roll of mere melody, Robbins brings strong focus back to the words themselves and thereby, brings depth of meaning back into contemporary music.

Serenity Now tells listeners the story of one man's trying experiences and yet in turn, these songs offer kind advice to those who may be undergoing similar seemingly inescapable troubles. Although ripe with torment and helplessness, the root foundation of this work is laced with the hope and faith that dreams will eventually come true. In all, Serenity Now is a plea for happiness and a better world in which to share it.

Want songs that make you 'feel', look no more!

Only just found this site, and my god am I glad I did.
While I've only heard the 4 playable samples so far, tis enough to assure me this is one CD I HAVE to get.

The lyrics in Your Portrait that this snippet allows really 'talk' to the listener, and EVERY listener has been there at some point. Not many songs can do that.
The whole 'feel' to strip, I loved! Its that smokey room, that chilled out snakey dance, the undercurrents of sensuality and the promise of more more more!
Icicle road, ahh a place for everyone. How the world needs this, and MichAel Robbins gave it.
Reflection made me think of airports and massages, hugs and smiles, waves and gooodbyes.
I so have to stop running away from life and get this freakin CD!

Wonderful textures, love the tunes .. great job Michael!!

I have just listened to Serenity Now all the way through and I love it. The mixes are really nice, wonderful textures and I love the tunes.

My faves on first listen are Into the Deep, The Nile, Icicle Road and Reflection. I really like the rest as well but those 4 really spoke to me on first listen. 

In the description for this CD, it states that the lyrics are brutally honest. While this is true, I have to add that the music itself is also very honest.
