ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Puttin' The Word In The Streets is the third studio album by the Michael Vincent Band. It features songs such as their new single, "Trailer Park Boogie" as well as a few re-recorded older tunes such as "Won't Look At Me The Same" and "Gator's Lament." These newly recorded versions are live staples for the band, and they have evolved since the prior recordings. They have a few carefully selected cover songs, mostly sung by the bass player Danny Mack. The first,"Old Brown Shoe," is their own arrangement of an old Beatles song written by none other than Mr. George Harrison. It is a slowed down southern rock version of the song, and Michael Vincent lays down some tasty slide guitar to top it off. The others, "Street Corner Talkin'" and "Mona" are fan favorites at shows and were requested that they be on the next album, and the band agreed that it would be a good couple of tunes to add to the lineup. "Street Corner Talkin'" is an old Savoy Brown song while "Mona" was adapted from a Bo Diddley classic from the late 1950's. The remaining tracks, "I Need You," "The Midst," "Let Me Go," & "Here Today, There Tomorrow" are all brand new tracks from the band. They even brought in a friend of theirs Carl Bumbaca to play Harmonica on "Here Today, There Tomorrow." This track was heavily influence by the great Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee and their irresistible style of country blues. "The Midst" is the track instrumental that was written by the Michael Vincent Band and is the introduction to the next tune "Let Me Go." The album is completely produced by Michael Vincent and Danny Mack, and was engineered by Michael Nilsson. They were compelled to try the home studio set-up, so this album was recorded completely on the top floor of the Lincoln Mansion in Gilford, NH by Michael Vincent, Danny Mack & Michael Nilsson. The band has been on a tour of the southeastern United States but is currently on the move so visit their website and check their tour schedule because they may be coming to your town soon!
