Album Notes

Michael-Angelo composes, performs and engineers his music himself. In late 2007, from his hometown of Rawdon, Quebec he launched his debut album Trip the Light Fantastic on iTunes, in select record stores, and off stage. The album’s sound is a pop mixture of acoustic guitars and synths with layers of warm folk and kickin’ funk mounting to a ton of rock…

Michael-Angelo’s original influences come from the melody-based music of the 1990s. At the age of 15 he was accepted to Vanier College in Montreal where he studied music, focusing on jazz guitar. That’s when his influential spectrum widened to every musical style, inspiring him to write songs in a more eclectic fashion. He has performed well over 100 concerts across Quebec and Ontario, collaborating with several well-established artists including Étienne Drapeau, Jervais and Patrick Ménard (Yelo Molo, 92-99). Also Michael-Angelo has won and been a finalist in many famous music competitions including the International Songwriting Competition, Première d'Eric Lapointe and Corrida.

In 2008, Michael-Angelo moved to Toronto and toured the city’s venues, building a solid fan-base. By the end of the year he had played over thirty concerts including television and radio shows in Quebec and Ontario. As he continues to promote Trip the Light Fantastic he is focusing on a second album, due for early 2009 and has moved back to his home-studio in Rawdon, Quebec.
