Album Notes

Michele Pinet is known to audiences as a soloist, a chamber musician, and an orchestral player. Cited by Richard Buell of the Boston Globe for her “strong-minded attitude and sound..., a freshness and originality,” and by the Boston Herald for her “vitruoso instrumental work,” she has been a featured soloist with the New England Philharmonic; the Longwood Symphony; the Boston Chamber Ensemble; and the Chorus pro Musica. She presents numerous solo recitals throughout the region. Ms. Pinet has collaborated on chamber projects for the Music Festival of Arkansas; the Festival de Musique Impressioniste (Lille, ME); Contemporary Music Festivals at The University of Kansas and The Tanglewood Music Center; The American Harp Society’s National Conference(1994); St. John’s Concert Series; and several chamber concerts with The Oriana Consort.
Since earning the Master of Music degree in harp performance from the New England Conservatory, Ms. Pinet has been an active freelance musician, playing in many community and regional orchestras. She was a Tanglewood Music Center Fellow, as well as a student at The Salzedo Harp Colony. In addition to maintaining a private studio, she initiated the harp program at Creative Arts (Reading, MA) where presently she instructs. She has three transcriptions for solo harp published by Lyon & Healy. Several of her transcriptions are available on her recording, Solace.
