Songs Without Words for Pianoforte; Opus 18
The Songs Without Words is a collection of small songs for piano. No lyrics have ever been conceived for the songs and hence the name.
The Piano Barcarrolles; Opus 14.
The three Barcarolles are rolled into one track as they are short and literally, sweet.
The Lullabies for Pianoforte; Opus 16.
And of course, I have rounded out the album with some pieces from my piano suite and some lullabies.
The lullabies appear in two forms in my works; one set for the piano, and the same set then orchestrated for strings, french horns, and glockenspiel.
All of these piano works were composed back in the 1980s and 1990s, when the biggest piece (and almost the only piece) of furniture I had was a grand piano. It was my one source of solace in those days.
Some of these pieces are melancholy and some sprinkled with joy. All in all, it is a nice relaxing collection of piano works for those wishing to drift away on the notes.
Again, I hope you like them.
The Steinway Concert Grand Piano is heard in these performances. All performances are by the composer.
Thanks for listening - Michelle Ende'
