This is a mostly instrumental album with a smattering of vocal pieces. Traditional music blends very well with modern compositions from the group themselves.
This album contains the six tunes from the very first MicheMalou demo-album with the same title. It was recorded in the summer of 2001 and released in October of that year. In 2008 they went back over the old recordings and preserved all of the harp parts but replaced some of the guitar and bass parts and re-mixed the songs to give them a better sound. Vocals have been added to "Luegit vo Bärg und Tal".
Four new additions to this album are "Farewell", "Has Sorrow Thy Young Days Shaded", "Suo Gan" and "The Cliffs of Dooneen". Thomas Moore’s “Has Sorrow Thy Young Days Shaded” is given a vocal harmony treatment. “Suo Gan”, which is a traditional Welsh tune and was used in the Soundtrack to the movie “Empire Of The Sun”, benefits from an interesting mix of instrumental and vocal work.
One final 'new' addition to this album is Turlough O'Carolan's "Blind Mary". This was the very first track that MicheMalou recorded back in April 2000.
The line-up of MicheMalou for this album was:
Marie-Louise Norton - Harp, Ocean Drum, Vocals
Michele Cooke - Harp, Bowed Psaltery, Vocals
Colin Norton - Acoustic and Electric guitars, Bass guitar, Bodhran, Percussion.
