MICLORDZ
In a city that struggles for its own identity, the MicLordz have grown into a group that can be distinguished amongst hip hop’s elite. AlerG and Boots are not only creative song writers and composers, they also appeal to the underground and in most instances fans scream for the gritty and wild performances to continue. Having developed a great stage presences the MicLordz treat crowds to a perfect mix of show and talent allowing everyone watching to feel apart of the performance.
Although the crew was officially formed less than 4 years ago, both have been working with each other on music for much longer. The duo worked together on different projects for talent shows in their teenage years and had instant chemistry despite their contrasting styles. AlerG, known for his ability to blend melodic harmonies and in your face lyrics, meshes perfectly with the NY street lyrical cadences delivered by partner in rhyme, Boots Aka The Slick1. Together the MicLordz provide clever punch lines, addictive hooks, and well thought out song concepts demanding your recognition as respected musicians.
The MicLordz prided themselves on their live performance, bringing crowds to their mercy at every venue. Grabbing the spotlight regularly was inevitable, but the MicLordz realized that to be a complete hip hop force, another element would have to be brought to the table. 1200 production artist, Smooth (who was known on the local scene for cuts and scratches comparable to Freddy Krueger), answered there call on the 1’s and 2’s bringing there stage presence to icon status.
In the spring of 2005, the MicLordz independently released an EP entitled Long Time Comin. This EP featured locally known anthems such as Itz On, We Get Live and Eighty-Three.
Realizing the demand for new material, the MicLordz recorded, produced and finished their debut album entitled Family Tree. The record’s release will be followed by a promotional tour through various cities through Canada and the U.S.
