Album Notes

Made in Bombay, born and raised in the UK, and now San Francisco-based, Micropixie defies easy classification on her stunning debut album. Inspired, imaginative, and disarmingly personal, "Alice in Stevie Wonderland" gives listeners an inside perspective on MPX's curious and epic journey as an alien trying on the human experience. Alice in Stevie Wonderland weaves sensuous instrumentation - both electronic and organic - with intricate vocal textures (courtesy of MPX's Innit Choir). The album's unlikely narrative covers a wide range of genres, tempos and emotions as MPX confronts terrestrial themes of identity, conformity, mind control, solitude, and confusion; fortunately however, the Mothership beams down a timely reminder of her mission via the universal truths of divine intelligence: love, hope, evolution and harmony. The elegantly-packaged CD and 28pp full-colour booklet includes complete lyrics, and also features original photography by the Alien with Extra] ORDINARY[ Abilities herself. When I came across Micropixie on Myspace I was stunned by her amazing blend of sweet but experimental music, her voice and her surreal sounding words that in fact are overwhelmingly profound. The album's opening track "Earth: A Kit" I think, I have already listened to about 15 times without getting bored. I can't remember which track of whatever album by whoever artist would recently enjoy such heavy rotation in my CD drive. "Alice In Stevie Wonderland" is just it for me!

It's good to hear someone trying a different approach to thier music, this certainly is different, very relaxing, pleasing on the ears, without going over the top, this is a superb CD, I really enjoy listening to it, it's worth every penny!!! This is better than the mainstream music that's normally played on our radio stations.

I saw Micropixie perform live with just a tabla player for accompaniment; the CD retains her wit and lovely vocals but adds lush and engaging music and vocal effects. The CD booklet includes stunning photographs as well as all the lyrics; it would be worth the cover price by itself! But the CD is fab. I can't stop listening to it.
