These guys really know what they're doing
This cd is really very very good!!! They know how to make good, solid black metal. Good vocals too, which is always a plus. I love the last song on the album too! Once those crazy flutes come in it just gets insane

Slit Mah Throat

this CD was just about as good as any other atreyu, as i lay dying, or mudvacyne album out there. These guys fucking kick ass... to everyone out there! buy this fucking album!

Emperor of Nihil

Terrific cd. Combine Black Metal's best elements and symphonic metal and you have Pillars of silence. Highly recommended!

Essence of Death, Fury, and Melody
I bought Mictlantecuhtli's 2001 Demo and liked it... but then I shelved the CD and kind of forgot about them. While browsing CD Baby, I found "Pillars of Silence" and "Warriors of the Black Sun". I ordered both of them and only have one thing to say... Damn!
The band has a lot of talent and something many bands are lacking - original ideas. Not to say that you cannot hear their influences (Iron Maiden, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Dissection and Emperor, maybe?) Mictlantecuhtli display a good mix of fury and melody, with their Aztec lyrical theme. This band is a great addition to the American Extreme Metal scene. I would call their style Melodic Black Metal, not that it really matters... It's great Metal with a bright future.

i have never really liked black metal but this cd really opened my eyes. i think that one last battle is one of the best songs on the cd. thanks mictlantecuhtli

Awesome song writing.
Awesome song writing! Original style that blends black metal with elements of Maiden.

Death Upon Dawn

This C.D Is Fan-Fuckintastic Awesome Shit. Great Masterpiece Of An Album I highly Recomend It.

Chris from NOVA.

Complete Perfection!
Its not often that I would say this but this release deserves it: Everything about it shreds! I do mean everything! The packaging, the sound, the writing and the overall feel from this cd. If your a true red blooded Metalhead, you need this and as Dee Snider put it: "Play it loud mutha!"

the best
it is time to bring back an ancient culture from mexico and rest of the americas from this music

The Law

Most Impressive
Mictlantecuhtli progressively gets more intense and black with each and every song they write. Pillars of Silence is more impressive than what most bands in the Black Metal community are able to bring. Set your sights and don't look back.........This is the future of Black Metal.
