Delightfully Unusual
author: Bree Z.
This has to be one of the best "unknown" finds out there.
Completely different, yet thoroughly enjoyable. Its a sort of addictive weirdness. The lyrics are complimented by the eerie sentiments in the accordian and carousel-like tunes.
Some songs, like Lovesong, Lullaby, and Bourbon Tide are hauntingly beautiful by way of Tom Waits closer than anyone else to compare them to.
Others, like Happy Hour in Hell and Midget Caravan could have been additions to the Nightmare Before Christmas or the Corpse Bride soundtracks.
Its a great CD, and its been well worth taking the chance of trying them out.

This is a fantastic album. Lots of skill. A great change of pace from the usual.

Simply brilliant...a must have. Check out "moonpenny opera" if you like the style on this cd. They are truly one of a kind, and play shows in the pike place market regularly. Do yourself a favor, and check them out.

Great album - if you like it, try Circus Contraption

I've heard A Midnite Choir is no more, but they've reformed as Bad Things. Haven't seen them though.
