Lonesome Highway Revival

by The Mid-State Wire

The idea behind our music is that we start with Appalachian bluegrass roots and build out from there, adding some southern rock, delta blues, country while adding a dark twist born out of the Midwestern blue collar sentiment.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With influences ranging from John Hartford and The Flying Burrito Brothers to Tom Petty to Luna, The Mid-State Wire mixes Appalachian and Midwest styles into heartfelt, straight-forward songs. Placing focus on the ensemble over the individual, the band creates a full-spectrum sound of mandolin, organ, piano, lap steel, harmonica, guitar, drums and bass. Hailing from Columbus, OH and formed in July 2005, The Mid-State Wire consists of six working professionals, but their sound is decidedly blue-collar. When seen on stage, the band’s diverse backgrounds and styles find common ground in a determined work-ethic and honest musicianship that invites you in and welcomes you to stay.
