notes
Everyday a band or two writes a bio about how they are going to become "The Next Big Thing" in music. More often, bands break-up and wonder, "What went wrong?" Sometimes a group tries something different to get a buzz going, and once in a great while they do something just right. Maybe it's a gimmick like make-up, or a flashy stage show, but whatever it is, it gets them noticed.
Other than sounding like seasoned rockers at 24 years of age, the members of Midstokke have no gimmicks. They don't pander to the "flavor of the month" crowd like so many aspiring bands do. They just come out and play real rock and roll in an attempt to do justice to the greats that came before them. Rock and roll never died, it just been a lot harder to find these days. With the explosion of digital music, the fans are back in charge of what they want to listen to. Across the board, people want to hear good music coming from bands with TALENT, rather than the typical "whine about life, then scream about it" genre, found in most local clubs and venues nationwide.
Midstokke offers something for everyone, from straight forward rock and roll, to power blues, to funk, and all of it comes across with genuine emotion that people connect with.
The two guitarists are true products of classic rock, channeling everything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top, scathing solos and all. Complimented by a high energy, harmonica playing front man, and grounded by a rock hard rhythm section. Midstokke is a force to be reckoned with.
After almost two years of polishing and refining their sound, Midstokke released their first studio album "Private Stokke" in September '05 and have taken steps to establish themselves as a legitimately marketable act. With the formation of Midstokke LLC, and a new E-Commerce friendly website, Midstokke is ready to take the next step and move up the ladder towards nation-wide recognition.
The only thing holding them back is a super-saturated market of mediocre local bands. Promoters and booking agents are tired of booking bands that only bring girlfriends and families to shows, and frankly, Midstokke is tired of playing with them.
They are ready to go all the way, step by step. All they need is an excited pair of ears in a position to help out. Perhaps that pair of ears is yours.....

Midstokke has just turned from bad ass to the next Big thing
author: ChunkIn short, the sound of the band has matured though the albums to the great sound it has now become. The biggest thing noticed is the harmony the band displays when they play, every aspect of the band meld together to make a truly wondrous sound to behold. If you haven’t heard them yet, I strongly recommend that you do, and this new album is a great one to start out on!
Rock N Roll Messiahs For A New Generation
author: Tony Sison, All Access MagazinePrivate Stokke/ Midstokke Midstokke Music 2005 What a breath of fresh air! Recently all radio stations have been plagued with overly depressing/aggressive music that makes you want to sit in your one-bedroom apartment and hate yourself. But have no fear! We've been sent another rock n' roll savior! From Seattle, rockers and rollers I introduce you to, Midstokke! These guys know how to lay it down, and lay it down good with rock-out-loud lyrics and music that can only be matched by Black Crows or Aerosmith. The band's debut release, 'Private Stokke' is one of the best album I've heard this year. The songs run the admittedly limited gamut of the rock'n'roll game, from the out-and-out rockers "Rising Sun", "Rubbafunk," and the mid-tempo swagger of "Questions" . Excellent songwriting, all-out musicianship, strong vocals and the right kick ass attitude to put it all across to a new generation. All in all, this is just really GREAT straight-forward, good-time rock and roll that has a classic rock feel, with a slightly updated edge. I hope that these guys not only stay around for a really long time, giving us MORE of their great music, but also that they are an influence on the music industry in general so that we see more great bands like them in the future. I look forward to Midstokke’s future efforts, they will definitely be spinning in my CD player as long as they are releasing 'em. The bottom line, if you like the catchiness of some of the rock that you hear on the radio these days but despise the pop that accompanies much of it and/or if you enjoy the solid instrumental musical quality of true classic rock 'n' roll, CHECK THIS BAND OUT! Huge Kudos, Midstokke! Keep it up! - Tony Sison, All Access Magazine HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
