The Mighty Weaklings was formed in 1996 by Sesame Street Puppeteer Matt Vogel and actor/director Michael Escamilla as a duo that performed comical, yet sincere songs. The duo later became a four-member New York City-based eclectic pop/rock band with an offbeat sense of humor and a dynamic stage show.
The band recorded this collection of tunes in 2002-2003 and it features songs popular at their live shows including "Hypochondriac" and "Jacob Wake Up".
Band members include Michael Escamilla (rhythm guitar, vocals), Bob D’Haene (lead guitar), Bj Hemann (drums, vocals), and Matt Vogel (bass, lead vocals, trumpet).
PLEASE NOTE: This is not The Mighty Weaklings' kid-friendly CD...that's called You Can't Rock Sittin' Down and is also available on CDBaby.

...looks are highly deceptive-this bunch of goofballs knows how to tear down the

The name of this band cracked me up and the introductory track had me rolling – "Get ready to keep it weak with The Mighty Weaklings!" The Mighty Weaklings is a New York City based band that has been “keeping it weak” since 1996.
Looking at the Mighty Weaklings you would never believe that they would be musically inclined. Only comparable to the Barnaked Ladies, they are possibly the most unlikely group of misfits ever to hit the stage. But looks are highly deceptive-this bunch of goofballs knows how to tear down the house!
My favorite songs on their catchy, quirky CD are Hypochondriac and Angel. Hypochondriac: "My mother insists that I take Prozac, ‘cause I’m a psycho hypochondriac!" Angel’s lyrics aren’t anything special; it’s just the harmony of this group that draws me in. The vocals on User are incredible – you can feel the pain over a love gone sour. These guys have great harmony and the guitar riffs are unbelievable. My only complaint was that sometimes the vocals were scratchy, but this only happened on a couple of songs, so I dealt with it.
Pay attention New Yorkers, this local band of misfits are probably playing in a club in your area! The Mighty Weaklings are definitely worth checking out.
