Ever since appearing on the hit children’s television program, Jack’s Big Music Show (seen on NOGGIN) with their song “Rocket Ship”, The Mighty Weaklings have been hard at work recording You Can't Rock Sittin' Down, a CD of songs that will make children and parents want get up, grab their air guitars and rock out!
Produced by Matt Vogel except "Rocket Ship" and "Bug Town" produced by Mike Rubin (composer, Blue's Clues), You Can't Rock Sittin' Down features special guests including Jerry Nelson (veteran Muppet performer from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock), trumpet player Kiku Collins, banjo player David Stephens, and the cast of the Broadway show [title of show] Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, Jeff Bowen and Michael Berresse.
The Mighty Weaklings was formed by Sesame Street puppeteer Matt Vogel and actor/director/musician Michael Ray Escamilla and is a five-member New York City-based eclectic rock/pop band with a sense of humor and a dynamic stage show. The band is: Michael Ray Escamilla (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Bob D'Haene (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Bj Hemann (Drums/Percussion/Vocals), Tim McCracken (Organ/Piano/Keyboard/Vocals) and Matt Vogel (Vocals/Bass/Trumpet).

LOVE IT!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this CD. I got it about 6 months ago and listen to it everyday - by choice! I bought three more copies to give to my friends with kids, and they're all Mighty Weaklings fans, too! "Its Sunny When You Share" is my personal favorite, but every song on this CD is AWESOME. I never hit the fast-forward button in my car, but I'm always hitting rewind!

You can't Rocking Sit Down

Great songs for kids to relate to. I bought six to give to my friends who have grandchildren and they all love it. We love to dance around our house with the kids and the music is great for that. The kids just love the subject of the songs and love to sing a long.

FINALLY!

I am sooo excited to have found this CD. I hadn't heard of the band before and a friend of mine saw a live show they did in NYC. She flipped over them. Their personalities, look, banter and SONGS are just fantastic. What an awesome album and show! Puppets and killer music that even I can enjoy....FINALLY! I love classic rock and to think now my daughter can rock out to an album with great lyrics, funny improvs and just fantastic music makes me sooo happy. Also, the their are several songs that are slower and have such terrific stories. Sorry, to gush but I am thrilled to have found this. FINALLY! We have been enjoying the CD in the house, car and now her daycare has a dance time to it! Especially, MONSTER UNDER MY BED and GRUMPY! What great messages. Okay, I'll stop gushing now. This band should take off and replace the Wiggles, etc. (although I like them too) But I LOVE The Mighty Weaklings. FINALLY! Thanks guys! Keep up the good work and have more live shows!

Everybody can have fun and Wang Chung!

The Mighty Weaklings have always been a great band that never takes themselves too seriously (full disclosure: Friend of Band), but this latest venture into kid rock is a fabulous romp full of fun and extremely catchy tunes that folks of all ages will love. After I heard "Rocket Ship" on "Jack's Big Music Show," I knew that the guys had taken their first steps into a larger world. Tim McCracken and his keyboards are a great addition to the group. I don't have kids, and I don't have a car, and while you don't need either to enjoy YOU CAN'T ROCK SITTIN' DOWN, I imagine this would be the perfect soundtrack for driving with the young'uns. Just plain fun.
