Mike Aubé is part peaceful warrior and part goofball. On his recent release, Aberdeen Street, you can find pleas for environmental sustainability alongside songs about UFO abductions, a dashboard Jesus and Shakespeare’s love life. But somehow it all seems to fit.
Inspired by the likes of Arlo Guthrie and Greg Brown, Aubé delivers these subtly subversive and nature-loving folk songs with rhythmic guitar and whiskey-smooth vocals. His songs remind us to be reverent toward the earth, resist the fad lifestyles of the corporate conspiracy, and yet to be careful not to take ourselves too seriously.
Born in Dorchester, NB, and currently out of Wolfville, NS, Aubé fronts local alt-country favourites Rust Bucket, who have become a fixture on the Annapolis Valley's contemporary folk scene over their six-year history. Organic and with a laid-back stage presence, this is feel-good music that nevertheless can make you think - like "medicine for your soul".

This album has a wonderful folk blues sound. It is uniquely laid back and has a very soulfull feel in its entire approach to the music. Mike show his playful and fun side with his most clever lyrical structures.
Very well played,... the music is perfect for mellowing in fine converstion with your favorite gal and relaxing evening drinks.
