Album Notes

The music of Mike Baas is spiritual and introspective. Its goal is to evoke a state of wonder in the listener, both through his earnest delivery and lyrical message. Influenced by Eastern and Western philosophy and his practice of Yoga and Qi Gong, it is his driving pursuit of answers to life's biggest questions that inspires him to write. Mike's catalog ranges from songs penned during heights of fantastic understanding to songs written in the throes of despair. His willingness to explore a large range of emotion in many ways parallels the music of The Smiths and the Dave Matthews Band, two influences that have made a tremendous impact on the way he approaches his art.

With the release of his new demo 4, Mike Baas has introduced a new breed of technical acoustic guitar playing. Here's how Mike describes the conception of his album:
