Invisible Man
Guitar, Beatbox and Voice.
"Over the last few years, I have been exploring a technique where I play guitar, beatbox and sing simultaneously, writing music that emphasizes every element to my fullest ability. The songs on this record are not elaborate studio productions. I wanted to record a project that captured the music of my live performances with studio-quality sound. Most everything you hear is exactly as I play it in the club. Where you hear humming, I hum and beatbox at the same time. Generally when you hear lyrics or multiple layers, that's a pedal capturing my beats and/or vocals in real time - live samples. Occasionally the voice gets effects that drop it down to the bass register ('Hey, Wait'; 'That Feeling') There is a DVD accompanying the 'Invisible Man' CD which includes live performance footage, to show you it's the real deal.
"But more important than technique, I am trying to create music that spans a range of emotion and is, first and foremost, honest to my experience. I want to draw from so many musical influences that the whole concept of genre gets blurred; to create a space where we stop focusing on the things that make us different and come together over music. I hope that it moves you in some way. Love and peace."
"Overwhelming skill, almost too incredible to believe," says www.scissorkick.com

Nice album
author: James Portolese
I saw this guy live a while back at Rockwood Music Hall, and he blew me away with his beatboxing, guitar playing, singing musicianship. An incredible performer (you can't really believe one guy is doing all that at once). The album is surprising in a different way, the songwriting is really good and so diverse -- I guess I notice more when the jaw dropping performance part is stripped away.
I want this guy to do some remixes of other people's stuff and offer his stuff up for mash ups.

Fantastic

This is a beautiful album. Gorgeous song after gorgeous song. all different stuff in different styles. At times it reminds me of Andre 3000, at others squarepusher, Rahzel, Adrian Legg, simon and garfunkel... at others somethin I've never heard before. Track number 2 is stuck in my head. beautiful. My favorites are track 2, track 10, track 3, track 7, and track 8.
The DVD is awesome too.
