Album Notes
The Right Time is Mike Melito's fifth CD as a leader and showcases his love of lesser-known tunes written by some of the hard bop greats. The album also has a few very strong originals as well. Marc Myers from Jazz Wax calls it "A superb album!!" If you love the tradition of bebop and hardbop, you'll love this record- simple as that. Melito has worked with some of the greatest musicians of all time including Barry Harris, James Moody, JR Monterose and Benny Golson. He has also played and/or recorded with Vincent Herring, Eric Alexander, Peter Bernstein, John Swana, Pat Labarbera, Harry Allen, Gary Smulyan, Ralph Lalama, Grant Stewart, David Hazeltine and many more. Mike has had featured articles written on him in Downbeat and as well as articles featured on him in various online jazz websites.
