Album Notes

The Mike Petrone Trio is based out of Cleveland, Ohio and is led by 42-year-old pianist and vocalist, Mike Petrone, with Berklee grad Ricky Exton on drums and Ed Stephens on bass. Mike has had a more than twenty-five year career in jazz, and is internationally known for his several, well-regarded, straight-ahead, instrumental piano trio recordings.
With his new album, Mediterranean Jazz, he switches gears and heads towards pop music, singing his own original songs but still using his piano trio as his band. The result could be the start of a new genre in music. Other bands and distributors are already following suit. Mediterranean Jazz blends jazz, Latin, and pop into something altogether new. You can check out their videos for the songs “Don’t Take Your love Away” and “You’re Mine” on YouTube under The Mike Petrone Trio and stop by their website for more information about the band and the new album.
