Album Notes

This album set "Departure" is the second demo recording of MikiSingh and Jetset, a new group formed in 2001. Jetset was first assembled in March 2001 by Miki Singh and Peter Parcek with the intent of playing in a music fesitival in the Carribean the following August. All the material in this set was written between March and December of 2001 and a subset of the material played at the festival was originally recording in a set entitled "Rehearsal". All the songs in "Departure" were written by Miki Singh (with the exception of "Addiction", co-written with Joe Chung). All arrangements are by Miki Singh and Jetset.

Jetset is not just a band. It is a growing assembly of musicians, designers, engineers, producers and other artists that are producing music and possibly other things. It was the intent of this demo set, "Departure", to explore a range of musical genres and begin to get the team comfortable in working together. To this end, the set spans funk, blues, rock, pop and dance musical styles.

The band itself is composed of some of the most talented and experienced session pros in the Boston area. The initial band was assembled by lead guitarist Peter Parcek, a reknowed local blues guitarist, and included Steve Scully on drums and Marc Hickox on bass. For "Departure", the original team is complimented by veteran session keyboardist and DJ Brother Cleve, who also plays the role of producer for the re-mix dance tracks in the set.
