Milbre Burch uses dramatic monologues, personal stories, folk and fairy tales and original poetry to explore some of the best-kept secrets of womanhood.

Originally mounted in 1999, this new edition of Mom's the Word is tempered by time, added nuance, remembered truths, and the presence of a live audience of birth practitioners, parents-to-be and "adult children of parents."

This recording was made during a two week run of performances co-produced by Kind Crone Productions and David Novak's A Telling Experience as part of the Catalyst Series at North Carolina Stage Company in August 2007.

An internationally known performer, Grammy nominated award-winning recording artist, acclaimed writer of modern fairytales and sought-after teacher of her craft, Milbre Burch is a storyteller in every sense of the word. A 30-year veteran of theatre, spoken word and storytelling festivals throughout the USA and in Europe, she lives with her husband and two daughters under the wide blue sky of Columbia, Missouri.
