ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Two unique tales that adapt classical fairy tale motifs of transformation – the slaying of a dragon and the marriage of a prince to a frog - and make them contemporary.” Yellow Moon Press

“Milbre Burch beautifully communicates a set of values rarely found in fairy tales…Where else would one of the prince brothers bring home his make beloved?” Ladyslipper Catalog

Burch’s original fairy tale “Metamorphosis” appeared in print in Xanadu 2, edited by Jane Yolen, and was on the long list of nominations for the James Tiptree, Jr. Memorial Award in 1995. “Dragonfield” was adapted from the novella of the same name by Jane Yolen.

An internationally known performer, award-winning recording artist, acclaimed writer of modern fairytales and sought-after teacher of her craft, Milbre Burch is a storyteller in every sense of the word. A 30-year veteran of theatre, spoken word and storytelling festivals throughout the USA and in Europe, she lives with her husband and two daughters under the wide blue sky of Columbia, Missouri.
