Album Notes

Military Special was forged in the fires of the Summer of 2007. They played their first show at a keg party in a Minneapolis basement shortly thereafter.

Founding members Peter Blomgren, Joe Schweigert, and Jake Hartnett—of Afternoon Records alums Look Down—hooked up with James Shaff (of Viceburgh), and Jake’s brother Joe Hartnett to form the original lineup of Military Special. Those five recorded a quick demo before the departure of both Hartnetts in September of 2007. Geoff Freeman, also of Viceburgh, joined on drums. Charlie Smith took the helm on synth.

Danell Norby joined Military Special in June of 2008, adding a second synthesizer to the band’s live show.

On September 2, 2008, they will release their debut EP.
