Album Notes

"With the release of Solstice, the Mill City Trio prove themselves to be one of the finest jazz groups on the Boston circuit today. Outstanding!"

--Douglas Sloan, Metronome Magazine

Since its formation in 2005, the Mill City Trio has been performing regularly in clubs, galleries and concert venues across New England. The group was formed by three Boston-area veterans (guitarists Jamie Dunphy and Greg Passler, and drummer Tony D'Anna) as an outlet for their original compositions.

Recorded at Zippah Studios in Brookline, MA, the Mill City Trio's debut CD, Solstice, features nine orginal tunes and an adventurous arrangement of the Baroque guitar hit "Canarios." The disc has been well-received by Boston-area press and radio, and the group is currently expanding its horizons, booking performances in Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey.

Solstice shows the MCT jazz trio at the top of their game from start to finish!

Solstice shows the Mill City Trio at the top of their game-from the start of the CD to the end.Easy listening-yet unpredictable enough to keep things very interesting. The guys cover quite a variety of music on the 10 compositions, and the studio came up w/a great sound. As a trio the music is never cultered, leaving plenty of room pick out each players talent.Jamie & Greg certainly compliment each others licks-lending more to the loose feel on the songs.D'Anna's drums sound incredible, and his mischievous fills really keep you guessing!THX to the MCT!!Cool!
