Album Notes

This family of four are known for their rich harmony, wide ranging musical skills and family oriented bluegrass shows. They have taken the Southwest Missouri area by storm in the past 2 years making numerous appearances at all the great venues, big and small, including; Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival,Conway, MO. Silver Dollar City Bluegrass & Barbecue Festival, Branson, MO. The Coleman Theater,Miami, OK. and Snyder Park Bluegrass Festival, Halltown, MO.... just to name a few.

Cliff Miller (a.k.a. "Dad") sings lead vocals and is the lead quitar player for the group. He has a rich heritage of music dating back over 30 years. While his first love was Country music his graduation to Bluegrass has come rather easily. He will share his fun loving humor on stage when the opportunity presents inself and loves to get the crowd involved. Cliff has added song writing to his resume; his favorite song "I Believe" is the title tract of The Millers first CD "I Believe". Cliff will tell you "he's just the guy that puts the gas in the van" but to this musical family he is the glue that bonds them together.

Joanne Miller (a.k.a. "Mom") is the bass player (bass fiddle for those bluegrass traditionalist) and does lead & harmony vocals. She has a long family tradition of great musical talent. Her Grandfather Richard Lemons taught her to play the mandolin at an early age. Her Uncle Johnny Mullins is an award winning songwriter and noted for such great hits as; "Blue Kentucky Girl" recorded by Emmy Lou Harris and "Company's Comin" first break through hit for Porter Wagoner and Loretta Lynn's #1 hit "Success". Joanne has the added role of keeping the group on time, fed and ready to perform... it's a tough job, but somebody has got to do it!

Megan Miller (a.k.a. "the teenager") can play fiddle with the best of them! She began playing the fiddle right before her 11th birthday and has been playing for 2 years now. In this time she has developed a crowd pleasing presence on stage. Her ability to play, do lead and harmony vocals on many songs shows the great talent that she has been blessed with. Megan will occasionally provide some humor on stage as she competes with her Dad in sharing good clean family jokes to the crowd. Look out, this young lady is going to "wow" you with her fiddle playing!!

Austin Miller (a.k.a. "The tallest member of the band") plays the banjo, sings lead & harmony vocals. This young man has made a name for himself in the banjo circles of Southwest Missouri. He just began playing 2 years ago and has developed a great bluegrass sound in his banjo playing. Known to the other band members for his "meticulous method of playing" (he wants it played right the first time with everyone being in time). Austin will certainly make your toes tap and your hands clap when he gets his fingers going

on that banjo!

This is pickin & grinnin at it's best. "The Millers" and "I Believe" keep me company all day in both my truck and shop. Austin keeps me toe-tappin happy with Listening To The Rain, and Megan breaks my heart with South Dakota Wind EVERY time I hear it. Blue Kentucky Girl has to be the best Bluegrass/Country song even written, and it's never been done better. What a wonderfully talented family! Can't wait for CD #3..... how bout making singles so I can get them quicker?!
