Album Notes

Milton is a New York City-based singer/songwriter known in clubs and college radio stations up and down the east coast for his hummable melodies, spot on lyrics, tight, groovy band and soulful, energetic live shows. This brand new self-titled CD keeps the promise made by his debut. Milton’s hip musical perspective and smart songwriting have earned him comparisons to Nick Drake and Van Morrison. But make no mistake, Milton sounds like no one but himself. He brings listeners a sound that is at once upbeat and relaxed with a pared-down raw groove.

This is one of those albums that you will find yourself listening to again and again. It is his voice-- a smoky, husky baritone that resonates with honest yet poetic lyrics which makes this record so alluring. A breath of fresh air for fans of songwriters, Milton’s confident, lyrical and accessible songs matched with the band’s dynamic groove make this a sexy, soulful, and just plain unforgettable album.

Five star - awesome - rating doesn't even come close!!!!

Listen up. You will probably get this album - as I did - for three or four tracks that struck a deep, evocative chord. But, by the time you've played it four of five times, you are most likely going to end up loving - and raving about - the whole cd. If this guy isn't soon blasting out from every radio channel across the country, there is no justice in the world. A truly major talent.

In a sea of shellacked crap that bobs on today's radio waves and blocks the shipping channels of my musical satisfaction, I am so happy to hear such a spirited, catchy songwriter as Milton. I think this guy might be the best artist I've heard since G Love, and that was some time ago. He is soulful, groovy, honest to what I assume is his rock roots and the result is downright compelling. The lyrics are vulnerable and poignant, the musicanship sparce, uncluttered and thus top notch. You have no reason to believe me when I say buy this CD other than I know I have excellent taste in music.

Listeneing to Milton's voice and his lyrics I am completely immersed and transported. When you listen you can feel the music, and that voice... wow!!! Milton has turned into one of those artists that I seem to be telling all of my friends about, convincing them that their lives won't be complete unless they check him out. And this cd is no exception!

catchy, beautiful music

LOVE this CD. The only problem is that it is so good that I listen to it several times a day to the exclusion of all other music and NPR. Now I have no musical breadth and I am ignorant of world affairs, but I am happy. The songs are beautifully written and rendered, in an original, authentic, poetic, lovely way. I couldn't recommend this CD more. And I don't know the band members!
