Their Time
author: Donald Jenkins
There are many new artists in the music market, but none with quite the story of Jessica Minahan, Steeven Nelson and Cambridge Jenkins III. These three individuals found one another at the right time in their lives to produce a cd that is thought provoking, challenging and enlightening. Producer, Cambridge Jenkins III, traveled many paths to get to this juncture as he finally gets his message and music out to the masses. In teaming with Jessica Minahan the results are a match made in heaven. "God Will Carry Me" is one song I play over and over because it takes you to the core of your soul. Jessica's voice and piano playing is astounding throughout and makes one wonder if this cd will be the catalyst for greater aspirations. The most emotional song, "I'm Sorry Lord", sung by Cambridge III, chronicles the story of an individual who has made mistakes and asks his GOD for forgiveness. You can feel the tension and pain in Cambridge's voice, a testament to everyone who has failed and is now asking for redemption from their higher power. Steeven Nelson gives "Castles In The Sky" a soaring tribute, his deep, husky voice coaxing the listener to hear his message. Instrumentals round out the cd, but the last song "I Know He's All Around" truly shines, with the children's chorus giving the song a spiritual, haunting feel. For three individuals to come together from different paths to create wonderful music is a blessing for all who care to listen. May the future bode them well.
