Mina Mauldin's debut album "Superpsychoticqueen" introduces the world to Mina's unique and edgy pop/rock style. Produced by local musician, Lonnie Trevino, Jr., this collection contains cutting-edge, radio-friendly material. "Mina's voice is unique enough to not be able to place a resemblance on it but familiar enough to draw you in." explains Lonnie. Songs styles range from "Let's Not Talk of Love" (alternative rock like Foo Fighters) to "Superstar" (LA dream pop like Avril Lavigne); not to mention "Genuine Jack" (roots rock like Sheryl Crow). Quickly gaining momentum as a favorite among the female fans is "Nobody's Girl" (baring stylistic resemblances to the Pretenders & E.L.O.).
Singer/Songwriter Mina Mauldin is a Texas native who moved to Austin two years ago by way of LA, after working with and co-writing two songs with Kevin Hunter (Sheryl Crow, Simple Minds). Subsequently Mina has co-written a CD's worth of material with Lonnie Trevino Jr., recorded it at Carl Thiel Studios and Mark Addison's Aerie studio, and assembled a powerhouse group capable of bringing those incredible recorded sounds to life. Truly original, Mina Mauldin is what's next in Austin Texas and the world!
Press
"Austin based singer-songwriter Mauldin and her band
are getting good notices for the songs and for
the ability to rock with a pop back beat."
- Weekender, San Antonio Express News
"Mina Mauldin is one of the freshest new female talents I've heard come out of Austin in awhile, and she's definitely representing for the ladies rocking Austin in 2005. Her debut, "superpsychoticqueen", totally kicks ass and I just can't get it out of my car's CD player. It's devilishly sweet and sounds really great. One of my favorite local records this year."
- Alejandro Vallejo, VALLEJO
"'Superpsychoticqueen' (WGP Records) is an instant standout from Mina Mauldin. The 10 punchy tracks... an array of impressive originals, includes "Genuine Jack," "Let's Not Talk
of Love," "Rodeo," and "Love Is a Word. [I] recommend Mauldin's exuberant rock.”
- Margaret Moser, The Austin Chronicle
"FIVE STARS!!! Track eight, "Genuine Jack" is where the
girl loosens up and shows her true colors. "Genuine Jack"
is solid with just a trace of a pop edge and is a sure hit.”
- Indie Music
"Mina shines her glorious light all over this CD. It's Beauty. It's Love. It's Perfection." Ali, Austinlive.com
