mindFULL came about in 2005 when Irish immigrants Darragh Hehir and Vivian O'Doherty were joined by native Italian musicians Alessandro Corrieri and Filippo 'Jack Drummer' Stasi.
Co-founders of Dublin group Yawn, Darragh and Viv had been playing an original reggae-oriented music for most of the 90's and the mindFULL sound retains a strong Jamaican, off-beat accent. The ska, rocksteady, roots and dub aspects have been mixed with influences from genres as diverse as blues, punk and traditional Irish music. The sound is perhaps most inspired by the late 70's music explosions of punk, reggae, 2-tone, and their ties to political, racial and environmental issues.
mindFULL have been active on the live circuit in Tuscany over the past year and have seen the recent arrival of percussionist Maurizio Carraresi to their ranks.
The release of their self-titled debut album, containing 14 original songs plus one dub version, showcases their unique, mindFULL sound.
