Album Notes

Captivating . . . personable . . . entertaining! These three words describe Mindy Ellis in her natural environment - the stage. Fairs, music festivals, dance halls and rodeos have been the backdrop for Mindy's performances for more than ten years. At the tender age of eight, this young cowgirl started performing for audiences of all ages at her family's Ellis Ranch in Loveland, Colorado. When she wasn't helping her family tend to their horses, elk and buffalo; Mindy learned how to play the guitar. She later added the piano, fiddle and songwriting to her list of musical accomplishments. Before long, Mindy and her campfire songs became the featured entertainment for the popular chuck wagon rides on the ranch. Mindy's performing experience equals many of today's top entertainers. Her musical talent has taken her to many large events, including; Grand Old West Days, The Greeley Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and the Longhorn World Championship Rodeo Finals. Mindy has also opened for several well-known country music acts, including; Alan Jackson, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ty England and Lacy J. Dalton. In 1997, Mindy moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. During her time there, she focused on her education and the business side of the music industry. Prior to graduating, Mindy was selected as one of the top four students to perform during the school's popular Country Music Showcase. Since graduating, Mindy has returned to performing. She brings her influence of the West to the stage and keeps her music country. Mindy mixes the sounds of Kitty Wells and Tammy Wynette with the newer sounds of Patty Loveless and Trisha Yearwood. Currently, Mindy is performing two nights a week at Nashville's Second Fiddle, which is located in the shadows of the historic Ryman Auditorium. Mindy's third independent CD, featuring several of her original songs, is now available for sale. Check out her website www.mindyellis.com.

Yeah I know. Most people don't write a second review of an album, but this one is different folks. This is so GREAT, that I came back and bought a second copy. Why? Cause I got Mindy's autograph on the first one & didn't want to lose it. At the same time, I feel that this gal is so good that I wanted to have a copy I could mail around to radio stations to get them to take notice of this excellent talent. What a shame it is that more people aren't getting to hear her just because the album isn't being played on radio. Keep singing Mindy!
