Minus Ted is lead by Skipp Sudduth from NBC's Hit Drama "Third Watch", and actor/musician Brian O'Neill but this is no vanity act (Brian and Skipp have been Taylor Guitar signed artists for the past seven years). The boys (and WOMEN) have been playing New York and New England for the past eight years honing their sound and crowd pleasing everywhere they go.

Because of their success LIVE this, their second album was recorded in front of a couple hundred people in a borrowed Off-Broadway theatre. The resulting vibe is amazing.

The rest of the band kicks it too. Terry Pender (mandolin/electric and acoustic leads has played literally all over this world and some of the things he does on the mandolin will have you believing he's visited the next one as well. Tom "Tom Tom" McGrath is a hand percussionist extraordinaire as happy with a hanf drum as he is on a kit or on his circa 1930 footpump harmonium (featured on "Tornado").

Famous accordion artist Rad Lorcavic took time out from world touring to play on the record and Paul Casson's harmonica and Jennifer Carnahan's fiddle finish the stylish mix brilliantly.

The songs are finally the thing though. These are straight from the hearts of O'Neill and Sudduth. And you don't get to the bottom of these songs after one or two listenings. You'll find yourself visiting their "emotion-scapes" again and again.

Most excellent driving music-get one for your car!!

    After watching Skipp Sudduth as tough as nails Officer John "Sully" Sullivan on Third Watch it is hard to believe that beautiful voice with those touching lyrics come from deep inside him. I guess that just goes to show the actor inside. I could listen to him sing all day especially Carry Me. That is truly soul touching song!!!

    I only recently heard about Minus Ted, after seeing Skipp off-Broadway in 10 Million Miles. Absolutely love this CD...gets better with each playing. A unique sound that takes hold of you and doesn't let go. Great integration of instruments. Commanding vocals and harmonies. I just wish the CD came with the printed lyrics. Would love to hear the band live.

    I found Minus Ted from looking for info on Skipp and Third Watch (love the show). Have both CDs and totally love the music, "Article of Faith", "Mary Knows Everything", among others off Hope & Damage and "Maeve", "In a Picture I Found", on Really Really are some of my favorites. I live in Hickory, North Carolina and just wish I was able to see them in person. Now just waiting for another CD from them. How about it guys?

    This is the second cd that I purchased from Minus Ted. I really enjoy listening to it. "Sorry" is my favorite...so far. The lyrics are great and so are the vocals. I was surprised at how different Skipp Sudduth's voice was from what I expected it to be. I am looking forward to future music by Minus Ted.

    I haven't bought a copy of Hope and Damage yet, but I'm going to go ahead and say Really, Really is a good place to start for anyone looking to get into Minus Ted. I was pleasantly surprised by Brian O'Neill's unique vocals. Skipp's vocals are also great, even though they are different from what I was expecting. I expected a more gravelly singing voice from Mr. Sudduth, something similar to his speaking voice on Third Watch. On the contrary, his singing voice is so smooth I had to listen to the CD a few times to convince myself it's really him singing. The music and lyrics are original, and hard to pigeon-hole into a specific genre. If I had to describe it in terms of a genre, I'd go with the label 'urban folk' that someone else already suggested. Awesome mandolin playing by Terry Pender, also. Stand out tracks for me are Sorry, Hurricane, Refuge, and Carry Me.

    I heard about Minus Ted through reading about Skipp Sudduth in Third Watch. Listened to cuts on CD Baby and immediately ordered the CD. Haven't listened to anything else since the CD arrived. The melodies are hauntingly beautiful and the harmonies are wonderful. Can't wait for another CD from this group.

    I heard about this band because Third Watch's Skip Sudduth is in the band, and was prepared to hear an actor's self-indulgence. I was surprised to hear an album that was not just real music, but which I've listened to at least a dozen times since buying. It's sincere, it's imaginative, it's fun, and it's sometimes melancholy, but it is never boring. To someone who's been wishing for some interesting new music, this is manna from heaven. I can't wait until they release more.

    I bumped into the Minus Ted website looking for Third Watch/Skipp Sudduth info (my fave character in T.W.). Downloaded the songs, with no expectations whatsoever. Then I listened to the songs a couple of times, and the music really (really) grabbed and moved me. The strong, yet touching voices of Brian and Skipp, the warm acoustic vibe, the hormonies...everything is just right. I also couldn´t believe the album was recorded live !! There´s not one bad song on the entire album, but my absolute favourite has to be "Sorry"...I can listen to that song over and over again, it´s just so beautiful. This is definitely one of the best albums I´ve heard in a long time !! I´m really looking forward to the "Hope & Damage revisited" album as well...

    This CD will indeed knock your socks off and, likely, the rest of your garments as well. Vocals, lyrics, instrumental performances come together with guts and emotion and talent that could bring the dead back to life or cure whatever ails you! Be warned,your body temperature may shoot up 10 degrees above normal when you listen to "Sorry" or "Really Really". Buy this CD, but again be warned, you won't be able to stop listening to it.

    One word: Unbelievable! Now some more words: How come I have never heard of these guys? This album is fantastic. I mean there isn't a bad cut on it. The one guy is a TV star? Usually that's a recipe for disaster, but this shit is for real. Check out SORRY and TORNADO. They rock. Then check out MAEVE and CARRY ME. They brought a tear to my eye. Great! Great! Great! More! More! More!
