Miria is an alternative pop-rock singer/songwriter from chilly New England, now making music in sunny LA.

In "Under the Surface", her debut album, Miria's thoughtful lyrics, intimate vocals and entrancing melodies reveal the facets of a highly original creative mind. Fans of Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple, Paula Cole, Sarah MacLachlan, Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette and Liz Phair will find something to like here: Miria has a sense of humor and a refreshingly unique perspective: few artists could produce both "Pop Star" - an addictive pop song about pop-star wannabes (I'm feeling so marketable today / I'm feeling sexy in a commercial kind of way / I'm feeling pretty on the outside) and "Keep Asking Why" - an inspired and inspiring melody about Einstein's first wife, Mileva.
