All original tunes -- beautiful arrangements. Music infuses jazz with rock and folk. 'Sweet or Hot' really swings. A seasoned pro in every way, this EP packs a lot of talent into a small package.

notes

Anne Mironchik's well-crafted songs mix the simplicity and soul of Carole King's melodies with the R&B spirit of Laura Nyro's chords and rhythms. Weaving in lyrics that are sensible, without being sentimental, she explores the struggles, loves, fears and joys of everyday heroes.

Anne's recording launches with a bass line on "I Need a Job", an all out rock 'n' roll pleaser about middle class working life. "Next to the Sky" carries us to a romantic hide-a-way on Anne's rich alto voice. Then, she kicks things up a notch in the kitchen with the big band swing sound of "Sweet or Hot (Cookin' in the Kitchen)". As the final cool, jazz chord fades on the title track "Find Me" you'll feel like you've been on a smooth ride down a familiar stretch of highway.

Her red-hot band delivers the slamming grooves as deftly as it paints the delicate colors of her arrangements. The warm, "old-school" sound on this EP comes from using a live, acoustic piano, vintage Hammond and Wurlitzer keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, live drums and percussion and a four-piece horn section. This is the sound that we grew up with, heard at our weddings (or other people's weddings) and welcome back like an old friend.

Born and raised in Hunterdon County, NJ, near the town of Flemington, Anne transplanted her homegrown love of rock and folk music to the hot bed of jazz and alternative pop of New York City. She cultivated her hybrid sound at Manhattan School of Music and graduated with a degree in jazz. Anne performs steadily at live shows throughout the New York area and beyond. She is a member of the Songwriter's Guild of America (SGA) and American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
