Mischa Kaye's music is cinenamatic and mysterious. Her songs linger on the edge of reverie; tempting the listener to wander into fantasy. Originally from a small town in Saskatchewan, Mischa Kaye now lives in Toronto. She is a trained classical singer as well as pianist, actor, and dancer. Although she has many talents, her first love is songwriting. Her music has been called an "evil ballet", perhaps because her songs move so effortlessly from dark, brooding passages to moments of ephemeral beauty.
Mischa began writing songs when she was a child, but it wasn't until her third year of music-theatre school that she became serious about writing and playing her own music. She became so absorbed by music that she spent every moment she had tucked away in a small practice room with a piano, often playing well into the night. After a long period of soul-searching, Mischa realized that there was no other option for her; she would seek a career as a songwriter.
After finishing school, Mischa arrived in Toronto to pursue music. In 2005 Mischa recorded and released her firt EP, entitled Angora. During the time the EP was being made, she began experimenting on her laptop with electronic instruments.
Mischa is currently writing and producing her first full-lenght album, and performs on a regular basis around Toronto. She has attracted fans during her live shows with her stage antics, dramatic interludes, and beautiful pop songs. In the coming months, Mischa will be performing in the United States and Canada.

Beautiful sweeping melodies give us taste of album to come
author: Cecilia Pattison-Levi (BMA Canberra)
Mischa Kaye's EP "Angora" is a sweet taste of a singer songwriter starting to bloom in her musical talent. All four tracks are grand and sweeping in their sound and Mischa's voice is strong in these four songs. She certainly has a strong sense of melody in her work. There isn't a weak track on this EP but my personal favourites are the lead track 'All The Way The Other Way' and the brilliant 'I Stole Summer'. The EP might be brief but it is quality that counts and this has it. Outstanding!
