Combining thoughtful lyrics and catchy hooks, Mischa Stimac's music, originating in Hawaii, is alt/pop at it's edgy best

notes

Alternating between meditations on love and loss and the simple  beauties of a beloved city, Mischa Stimac's alt/pop tunes both rock and  challenge by combining catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics . Mischa has performed her music across the globe, from Hawaii to Amsterdam, for the past few years. She has placed in the Top Three in numerous Battle of the Bands, being awarded the chance to share the stage with some of Hawaii's top musical artists. In the spring of 2005, Mischa Stimac traveled to The Netherlands, to record her debut album, "Go Fish". While she was recording, Mischa and her band played a few shows in Amsterdam.
It seems the world is ready for just what this singer-songwriter has to offer. In only a few short months on myspace music, Mischa Stimac has over 4,000 friends and has received over 10,000 listens to her songs. Quite an accomplishment for a 21 year old girl from a small town on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Following the release of her album "Go Fish", Mischa Stimac intends to spend the next year out on the road touring, promoting her new album, searching for a manager, and looking for a record label to sign with. Mischa plans to tour the U.S. (West Coast first), then Japan, and eventually wherever her music may lead her. In the fall of 2006, Mischa plans on moving to the West Coast permanently in order to pursue music full-time.

Go Fish- 2005

Review By Tiny Elvis

This is a definite must buy album from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii's Mischa Stimac. The moment you pop this little dilly in your player you are drawn to the sweet voice of Mischa. Vocal Layering and harmonies of the chorus on "Every Little Thing" are chilling and interestingly enchanting. There is this overwhelming feeling that this should be on the radio or at least presented in some form so that others can appreciate this bands talents for songwriting. You get that impression with track 2's "Go Fish". "Hopelessly Waiting" is orchestrated almost perfectly to pray on emotions with cunning and charm. The verse to chorus transition is a buildup of energy again released by harmonies and vocal layering that transitions you to thoughts of romantic yearnings. This is all made possible by some talented and ingenious band mates like Ian Thomson (electric and acoustic guitar), Christina Thomson's sleek background vocals, Daniel Stimac's Bass and cavalcade of other instruments, all along with Rene De Vries' Drums and Piano. Mischa is an amazing singer song writer that can rock it as well on the guitar. She isn't just another pretty face with a guitar (oh and she is absolutely gorgeous by the way) but a talent that is waiting to be discovered and that moment can't be far away.

This EP makes you wish it was a full 12-song CD, because it leaves you wanting more, in a good way. Mischa is so honest in her lyrics, which is what we all need in music these days, and her voice is like a breath of fresh air...raw yet beautiful, and effortless.
