A collaboration between a Californian and an Irishman, this disc is filled with images and melodies. Nearly every song touches on departure coupled with loss. Yet inherent in this loss there is always hope.

Sometimes, things just seem to make sense. This was the case when friends and family mentioned to Shay and Barrett that they should try playing together. Barrett had been a long time guitar player/arranger who was looking for the next adventure in music. Shay was a singer-songwriter that was looking to take his music to the next level. Together they were able to take the raw music they had created, and turn it into something new and powerful.
The more they played together, the more the sound grew. It seemed like every time they picked up guitars, something new would spring forth. Acoustic guitars and an interwoven melody and harmony vocals made up the staple of their music.
Barrett lives in Monterey County, CA and Shay lives in San Jose, CA. Playing and together meant that one or the other were driving the stretch of Highway 101 that connected their homes. This drive became both the symbolic and physical link between the two musicians. It was their mission to bring this music to others. Mission 101.

Beautifully written songs with sweet lyrics. Very nice instrumentation. I especially enjoy that I can put the CD in and listen to the whole "album", without wanting to skip a song. Nice mix of slow/fast, happy/sad, thoughtful/dreamy music!

Great Crusin Music
author: Joshua Clew
After listening to Sky Blue I couldn't help but think what a great album to listen to while crusin down highway one coast in a convertible with the top down. Just being in a relaxed mood with a smile on your face while listening to some good music with the wind blowing in your hair.
Good job on the record, hope to hear more for you.
