Miss Leslie and Her Juke-Jointers play Texas country music with a 50s and 60s flair. This relatively new group describes their music as "Country music with a hardwood floor sound". Combining some original material along with obscure country tunes that they have unearthed from the 50s and 60s, the band opens up new sounds in a classic country setting.
Leslie Lindley sings a gutsy, belting lead that has been compared to the likes of Patsy Cline and Connie Smith. Since starting the fiddle at the age of 5, she grew up playing bluegrass and country with her family band. She also studied classical violin through high school and college, where she began her academic studies in music. After college she continued playing bluegrass in and around Houston, but decided in 2004 that she wanted something different.
She decided to start a traditional country band with her husband, Randy, who had been playing professional bluegrass nationally for more than 10 years. Randy, who plays electric guitar, has played and recorded with The Coleman Brothers, The Sullivan Family, Rebel Records' David Davis & the Warrior River Boys, and Rebel Records' Karl Shiflett and the Big Country Show. The rest of the Juke-Jointers have played music professionally in and around Texas for more than 10 years.

This is one of my favorite CD's only wish there were more songs on it. I'll be looking forward to a future CD from Miss Leslie.
