John Crispino, who uses the stage name "Mister C" injects muscular, almost heavy metalish guitar and vocal flights, to give his songs extra punch.
Drummers especially will appreciate Crispino's passionate percussion parts. It sounds as though he is striking an anvil, on the heavy tune "Don't Make Me Go" citing as a major influence, rock legend, Carmine Appice.
As a singer, Crispino says he is inspired by David Bowie, though its another classic-rock artist, Robert Plant whom he more closely resembles, when cutting loose on the anti-domestic violence song, "Bang-Bang-Baby"..... please go to the sight to read the entire review.

The following are excerpts taken from IndieCrit Writer/Editor john Scalzi 5/14/02 review...."Hip-No-Tized"plays like a loving tribute to "Now and Zen" era Robert Plant. Track after track has the sonic ambiance, that oozed from"Zens" richly produced pores, with rock synths and rubbery bass, strategically placed electronic drums, massive background choruses, and Crispino's singing voice, in the same grainy, keening tenor genre that Plant founded, and has since dominated.... Two tracks especially highlight this sort of arena-friendly sound. Album opener, "Hallelujah" slinks along with a faux Middle Eastern melody line, bell like synths, and flanged guitars over a persistent mid tempo thunking drum beat, while Crispino intones the sort of imagery laden lyrics you'd expect an ancient pagan high priest to utter..... Mid CD, theres "I'll be there for you", not the unholy Friends theme, but rather one of those ballads that reflexively causes concertgoers to root around in their pockets for their lighters...Overall, this is straightforward arena rock and roll.
