Mister Mikey Releases Debut CD Titled “Spoon Fed”

For typical stay-at-home parents, duties frequently include cleaning house, changing diapers and preparing meals. However, for Westchester County’s Mister Mikey, foregoing the climb up the corporate ladder to tend the brood, has paved a pathway into the music world with his debut CD titled Spoon Fed.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics sites dramatic increases of families in which both parents remain in the workforce. However, Mister Mikey makes raising the family priority #1 while writing a variety of catchy tunes that cover every child’s favorite topics – ice cream, the family pet, waking up in the morning and awaiting the arrival of mom at the end of the work day. Each song featured on Spoon Fed is layered with unusual and stimulating sounds, including swishing brooms and booming tubas, yipping dogs and fire engines. The track “Mom’s Coming Home” even incorporates giggles from his young daughter when she was just 6 months old.

“In our household, music started as a means of entertaining my wife and our daughter, but it has followed a natural progression of entertaining parents and kids everywhere,” said Mister Mikey.

Upon the birth of his daughter in 2004, Mister Mikey embarked on an entirely new career as a stay-at-home dad. As one of the few men in his field, he has experienced an interesting transition, but being submerged in the playground lifestyle has provided a wealth of material for his music.

“Making children’s music is a great combination of my new found career as Mister Mom and my love of music,” Mister Mikey concluded.

Also known as Michael Graham, Mister Mikey spent 12 years serving public and private sectors in career training, recruitment and employment placement. A self taught guitarist, he has been able to flex his creative muscles writing music that is entertaining for children, but still sophisticated enough for adults.
